Career Day
The Bernice MacNaughton Career Day provides students with information on career opportunities whether they plan to enroll in college or enter the workforce after graduation.
Our Career Day is designed to give students exposure to possible careers they may have considered as well as offering new career choices. Planning starts early to ensure a complete slate of speakers and representatives and to give students the opportunity to select those sessions that are in line with prospective individual career options. The PSSC looks to our school alumni, parents and adults from our community to represent career options.

Career Day takes a half day of the students’ time. Prior to the event, students are given lists of available sessions to attend and rank them in order of personal preference. Not all first and second choices will be honored if too many students list the same options. However, if there is a tremendous interest in law, for example, it might be helpful to invite two representatives from that field and run concurrent sessions in order to accommodate interest.
The BMHS Career Day offers tremendous benefits to students about to enter a society of ever increasing unemployment. Career Day should a beacon of hope and opportunity for every student, whether she/he is planning to pursue college or go right into the workforce after graduation.
